Psalm 133:1

Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! -- Psalm 133:1

Congrats to Foster

Foster H.S., a team we defeated twice earlier this fall, is in the finals of the 64-team TASO Tournament. So, congratulations to Foster and our former teammate Brad, and good luck. Thought you all might like some perspective on the type of competition that the United is facing ... and handling.

See you soon.

The Next Level

A lot of our players want to play baseball at the next level, and we applaud them for that desire.

To get there, however, action on your part is required. Thinking that it will "just happen" is a mistake, especially as a homeschool baseball player. There are plenty of opportunities to play at the next level for homeschoolers, but getting them requires players and families to take the initiative.

Part of our motivation behind the United is to foster an opportunity for our players to be seen by scouts while playing out at Kyle Chapman. We also want to create an environment that encourages players to play at as high a level as possible.

Coach Steve Winnon of the Houston Saints select baseball organization has prepared an excellent resource for high school players who want to play in college: Click here to read it. Coach Winnon knows what he is talking about, too; his son is playing at D-II Tusculum College in Tennessee.

Check out what Coach Winnon's presentation has to say to both players and parents. It's a good read with valuable information.

I would also strongly encourage each of you players to get signed up on beRecruited.com, if you have not already done so. This is a great resource to get your name out there and to make contact with college coaches.

Two final points: 1) If you want to play in college, great. That's a laudible goal. Now, act like it. That is, work on your game consistently and passionately; and 2) If you have any questions or need additional information, talk to any of us on the United staff and we would be happy to help.

For the United,
